ONE LINE A DAY
Support
Updated October 5, 2026
A little each day, kept close.
Write up to 140 characters for each day. Your entries become books in a quiet attic library. Writing and reading work offline; purchases and restoring purchases need access to Apple’s services.
Change the app language
In Ichigyo, open Settings → App language. In the iPhone settings that open, choose English or Japanese, then reopen Ichigyo. Your entries and book titles stay exactly as you wrote them. Menu wording varies by iOS version. On older iOS versions, if Language is missing, add English to your preferred languages under Settings → General → Language & Region while keeping Japanese as the primary language.
Where are my entries stored?
Ichigyo stores your entries and settings on your device. There is no Ichigyo account or automatic diary cloud sync. Device backups are separate and depend on your iPhone settings.
Move to a new iPhone
Encrypted backup export and import are included in Unlock Journal Features. In Settings, open Encrypted backup, choose a password, and export the file. On the new iPhone, restore the feature purchase if necessary, then import the file using the same password. Check the restored entries before deleting anything from the old device. Keep both apps up to date; older versions with a 50-character limit do not support longer entries.
Keep a readable copy
TXT and CSV exports are free. PDF books and encrypted backups require Unlock Journal Features. A TXT or CSV file is a readable copy, not an encrypted backup. Choose where to save or share exports carefully.
Why did no notification arrive?
Allow notifications for Ichigyo in iPhone Settings and check your notification time in the app. By default, reminders appear only when a past entry is available to revisit. You can also choose a reminder for days without a past entry. Focus and notification settings can affect how alerts appear.
Notifications and widgets after a language change
Open Ichigyo after changing its language so it can refresh pending notifications and widget data. iOS controls when widgets refresh. Notifications already delivered and files already exported do not change language automatically. You can choose whether diary text appears in notifications and widgets; it is hidden by default.
Add a widget
Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen, open the widget picker, and find Ichigyo. Add “A line on your screen.” The wording for opening the widget picker varies by iOS version. Diary text visibility is controlled in Ichigyo’s widget settings.
Restore a purchase
Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Unlock Journal Features and the eight room/scenery packs are separate purchases. Restoring a purchase restores access to that product; it does not restore diary entries from another device. There are no subscriptions or in-app ads. Seasonal packs remain usable after purchase, even outside their sale periods.
Save a wallpaper
Open a wallpaper preview and choose Save to Photos or Share. The preview clock is not part of the exported image. If permission was denied, allow Ichigyo to add photos in iPhone Settings, or use Share to save elsewhere.
